Can you recommend or not?

The stage show is very different to the film but both are excellent in their own way. I am taking my grandson to see it at our local theatre in November. I loved the film so will not compare the two.

Saw it in London. It was quite good but the theatre spoilt it for me as only two sets of two toilets. Saw it mentioned in a review and yes people ran for the toilets. Shame as the rest of the theatre was good and staff friendly.

Like others, I didn’t think the subject matter was right - it’s an incredible part of our history, but making it into a jolly musical just seems disrespectful to Glyndwr Michael and his family. But everyone seems to rave about it, so perhaps it’s sensitively done and I’ve missed out by not booking when the show was in the area?

My dad took me to see the film when I was about 11, and I've seen it since on TV. To me, it seems a strange subject for a musical.

I often think I live on a totally different planet I ve never heard of this musical or heard it mentioned

I love musicals but couldn’t believe ‘The Man Who Never Was’ a suitable subject. Then six of my family went at Christmas 2024, 18 to 80 with very different knowledge and experience of theatre, music and WW2, we rarely agree about anything . We were all absolutely blown away by the production and have recommended it enthusiastically. This production is remarkable on so many levels, even the lighting deserves an award.

I am so annoyed with myself for resisting DH’s attempts to get me to see if at a neighbouring city to ours. I think it will have to be an expensive trip to London now.

It has such an odd title I wouldn't have looked twice at it, but thanks for your comments. One mustn't judge a book by its cover, methinks.

It's amazing - seen it several times in London and looking forward to seeing it again later this year. All of our friends and family members who have seen it also thought it was brilliant. Hope you love it too, NanKate.

Yes, yes, and yes again. We saw it at Milton Keynes a few months ago, I was doubtful, but loved it. It has been well received by the critics.

I haven’t seen it but friends of ours saw it in London. They enjoyed it so much they booked to see it again at our local theatre.
The dates weren’t convenient for us unfortunately though.
