I have no signal for my mobile or Internet at leat 40% of the time already..

It must be to do with the shape/construction of the house as outside is fine.
Don't know what will happen here when everything is digital.

Very similar here for mobile signal though internet is fine.

We had a long thread on this very recently.

To recap, we found them highly unsatisfactory. Signal stength was poor, despite having a mesh system round the house, there was a limit over how far from the main system we could go (indoors) without the sytem cutting out and random cut outs in calls, plus not being able to get a line when we wanted one made them unreliable.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise there had been another thread. My account went wonky on here and I had to sign up again so ive missed quite a few things.

BT changed my landline two months ago and it has been okay, only once where I lost the connection.
When I agreed to the change they sent me a new hub and a telephone which becomes connected to mobile system in case of power cuts.
I only use the landline for international calls as I use my mobile for everything else.

I am with Virgin and they switched mine over in the middle of last year. so about 18 months with no problems whatsoever.
I like the landline and when I'm home I use it more than my mobile.
The only, very slight, issue was that the position of the phone needed to be changed as it has to be near the router.

My Virgin Media landline was switched over to VOIP around a year ago. We have superfast fibre broadband and there have been no problems so far but, obviously, the landline will no longer work during a power cut or an internet outage.

We now have 5G. I confess I do not really understand it all, but when we moved into this house in August, it did not have fibre but ther was a conduit to run it through from the house to the Openreach facility about 30 yards away. Unfortunately the further end of the conduit was damaged and they needed to dig a small hole on a wide pavement to repair it. They were meant to do it within six weeks.

That was in August. We are still waiting, or rather after waiting until fed up with waiting and phoning, we got a 5G hub, which does not require any wires and provides our 'land' line, internet, tv and streaming services., and will run the bath for you, (well not quite yet).

I have had mine for around 9 months and the signal is good, with no more strange cut-offs when ringing a friend.

I cannot get in touch with another friend because my phone says "I don't have permission to ring that number". She can ring me, but as she is in her 90s, incapacitated and blind, that happens rarely.

Gigaclear had a reduced price offer for a year, I think. The fee goes up later but I shall try to negotiate.

My work has changed my work phone from a landline to a Teams phone number. (Same number - it just rings to my mobile using Teams.) I find it works quite well.

My landline phone has just broken two days ago so I face the choice pretty soon. I'm tending, for now, to get a cheap replacement (I'm with Sky, have a mobile for most everything, but use the landline as back up)
The old one must have been over 15 years old?

any recommendations - no "bells and whistles"?

Ours are working well so far. We were changed over about three months ago. We’re with BT and have been provided with a backup battery in case of power cuts. We do both have a mobile phone we can use if necessary although Mr C doesn’t usually use his. I think success varies with area.

Oh that's good, yes have mobiles.
Are gigaclear expensive ?

Gigaclear. Seems to work fine. We have five extensions. you need a special box to connect to the internet but Gigaclear supply that. We also have mobile phones, a good back up in case internet goes down.
