Eyebrow microblading

A friend of mine had hers done a year or so ago. She has lost most of her hair and her eyebrows had practically disappeared too. Her microbladed ones look vey realistic. Just a light brown, not black slugs.

I e never heard of it. But then again , I am not a wearer of make up either.

That's all very well, but I lost my eyebrows because of illness and they didn't grow back. So there was no natural shape to 'enhance'. It was much better than having to draw them on every day

I'm another who wouldn't consider microblading.
It seems to be the case that a lot of these eyebrow treatments are too prescriptive and everyone seems to have to get the same type of eyebrows whereas i think it's better to enhance your own eyebrows natural shape.
Rather than a pencil I use a wee palette of brow powder colour applied with a brush.

I must be completely out of touch.

Had no idea about ‘microblading’.

Just looked at my eyebrows in the mirror.

Honestly never give them a thought.

Definitely try and get recommendations or see photos.
There are better procedures out now other than the original Microblading.
Try to make sure you get Nano Microblading or PHI Brows.
I am 70 and didn’t want a harsh ‘trendy’ look.
I am also very fair skin colour so I was very nervous and did a lot of research.
In the end I had PHI Brows in the lightest colour last year and it has been amazing. Totally framed my face and I do not look tired and washed out anymore, just eyebrows as they should be, if that makes sense.

Buy an eyebrow pencil for about 4 quid and draw them on. Easy to wipe away and begin again if they go wrong.

Jimjam1 i have just my 2nd laser treatment to remove the colur from my old microblading and as it is a small area takes about 5mins each brow. Ìf you need they will put anaesthetic cream on prior to treatment. It is uncomfortable but not to bad. I never bother with the crea. Its over with before you know it. Good luck! One more session and I will be ready for my new brows

Have you tried the microblending pen?
It's like a miniature fork. Make little movements and looks like hairs. I buy on Ebay.

I had mine done about 3 years ago now with a top up about 6 weeks later. I love them! Make sure you go to someone reputable, ask to speak to previous customers.

I had mine done some years ago and they have lasted well and I get lots of compliments that they look very natural. I am planning to get them done again and a technician explained that organic dyes can change colour especially the blue effect that has been mentioned. The dye can be removed or lightened if necessary - she doesn’t use organic for this reason. I had a patch test and filled in a very detailed questionnaire. I’m leaving it to the new year but will definitely go ahead.

A friend has had hers done elsewhere and they have gone dark blue and are too close together so look strange.

If you do decide to have them done check you are happy with her markings before agreeing.

Once mine were done the difference it made was amazing.

My eyebrows are thin towards the outer edges, my daughter has been encouraging me to get them microbladed but so many people seem to have them too thick and especially too dark. I can't bear the dark caterpillar look.

I am interested to see this being discussed. My eyebrows are practically nonexistent due to anti cancer drugs from a few years ago and gout medication! An added problem is a small scar on each eyebrow. I have to pencil them in every day. Is micro blading a sort of tattoo? Is it permanent? TIA.

I’ve had mine done and I LOVE them. They were a bit dark at first so I had to wear a bright lippy to make it look like I’d meant them to be that dark but after the 10 days were up they had softened to an absolutely natural colour. I’ll have them redone in a year or two when they start to fade.

I have had mine done three times over the years. The colour does fade and it depends on your particular skin. Mine have gone pale and ashy in tone.
I had a consultation with someone new to me, whose work I have seen in photographs.
He recommended having laser treatment to remove them, to give him a clean canvas to work with. (My own brows have almost completely disappeared…) I had a “test laser” to see how the pigment would react and it seems as though it will work well. The laser felt like having an elastic band “ pinged” against my skin, or one of those electronic bite relief devices.
Once the lasering is finished, I then have to wait a minimum of 10 weeks before having new brows.

I get mine done every 2 years and I have never had a colour change issue

I had mine done around 7 or 8 years ago, with a 'touch up' a year later. I am thrilled with them and they still look good. I was expecting them to disappear after a two or three years. Although faded somewhat, that just adds to the natural appearance of them.

I have had mine done several times over the years. Sadly mine have got a blue tinge to them where colour has been added too many times. As a result of this I have got to get the original dye removed by laser before any more colour can added. Apparently quite painful.

A friend of mine has had it done, they don’t seem to follow her natural line and go down towards her nose. Nobody mentions it, of course, but it’s quite mesmerising.
Do get recommendations.

My friend had hers done and went to a salon which was recommended. It was a disaster - they looked (in both her sons words) like “clowns eyebrows”. Very arched and very dark despite her spending some time with a template.

She went back and got her payment refunded. I think it was about £250. The girl was apologetic but she has had to cover them up with makeup and wear sunglasses because they just didn’t disappear. This must be about 4 years ago and she says they are still visible when she cleans her makeup off.

I had mine done now they need a top up. Unfortunately the lady who did mine has shut her shop so I'm on the lookout for a recommendation in my area.

I had mine done seven years ago. They have faded now but I had no problems with the process. It was a wee bit painful but not overwhelmingly so
