Are you sure they re going to be with their boyfriends ?
It depends how long for and how regularly it happens

If she’s out with them till 10 pm or after dark or gone for 3 or 4 hours or your friend doesn’t know where they go then I would be more concerned

If these are just acquaintances of yours then it’s none of your business if the father in the case is a son and the 10 year old is your grandaughter you ll have to leave it to him to sort out

To be honest I wouldn’t think 15/16 years old meeting their boyfriends would be wanting to have a 10 year old with them so it’s probably not as worrying as it first sounded

I’m in two minds having read your post saying that these visits to the park are when the older girls mum visits, presumably not every day. So the 10 year old is with a family friend for an hour or so and possibly enjoys being made a fuss of by the older girl.

When I was about the same age I used to love spending time with a teenage neighbour, she would take me to the park and buy me sweets and I had a great time, sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with her friends. They made me feel special and I think they enjoys “playing mum” for a short time. I was the oldest in a large family so had little time on my own, it was usually me looking after the baby!

I depends on the frequency of the visits, the length of time and if the two girls enjoy spending time together.

No, it's not a wind up it's TRUE. One older girls mother spends time with 10 year olds mother. While visiting the other parent the 10 year old is sent out with this older girl, while the mums have chat time. This has been happening for months. The father of younger child is furious. Plans to put a stop to it. I just wondered what advice you would give and winter is coming. I personally would not let a child of mine out like this. I would say there is a risk of harm, but maybe I am out of touch with current thinking. Thanks for your teplies

I wouldn’t allow it if she were my child. Why would 15/16 year olds, meeting their boyfriends, have an unrelated 10 year old tagging along? Is this a serious post?

I don’t think so, but depends on how you know the other girls.
Would they want a ten year old hanging around with them?

Hard to say without knowing the young people and the situation but it doesn’t sound a good idea at all though and my 10 year old wouldn’t be going out with non family members of 15/16 So on the information given the answer would be NO

I would not have allowed my 10 year old to do this. I think, though, that each child and family is different and the parents have the final say.
