Anyone had a breast reduction in their 60s?

I doubt that you're too old. I should think your state of health would be far more important. Mine have 'reduced' all by themselves as I've got older, thankfully. People do have them done on the NHS, but I'd expect a very long wait.

I don’t have your problem, but I would imagine the NHS would treat you, as you’re getting physical problems. Have you tried that route?

MerylStreep, as with so many things, it depends upon where you live and what your local CCG has decided to spend on.

I’m not eligible on the NHS unfortunately, think you need to be a GG and tried physio first etc. I’d just need to make sure I have enough left in my savings for emergencies if I went privately. I work, own my home and would be left with about 7k which I could build up again. Enough?

I had this done by the nhs in my mid 50s and did wonder at the time if I was too old? but of course it wasn’t, saying goodbye to daily backache and ridged shoulders was wonderful,
Surprised you don’t fit current criteria as you are clearly slender which was an issue when I had mine as criteria then related to bmi.

My sister had the op when she was sixty ( privately) and said it was the best thing. I regret not having it done but now feel at 73 , I am too old. I was just too much of a wimp. Go for it! Think of the nice clothes you will be able to buy and saying goodbye to the physical problems of having large breasts

I would love to have this operation but my understanding is that it is no longer available on the NHS. I wish I’d done it years ago.
