Christmas cake recipe?

I made a recipe that was classic Christmas cake. That you booked the fruit and lemon and orange juice up together and let cool and added flour eggs butter spices and it turned out v well. I usually mix them in a bowl no idea if it will be ok but looked very nice

I should also add, I am not a fan of Christmas cake myself but my elderly relatives enjoy home made cake. You can taste the difference, you know.

I have made Delia Smith's celebration cake for years it includes cherries and almonds and in mace brandy soaked fruit plus extra to top up the cooked cake until its marzipan and iced.

Yesterday I made the Delia traditional Christmas cake. The smell is divine. Going to wrap it today after giving it a feed of brandy.

why not just buy one.
wouldn't that be easier. and so many to choose from.
but each to their own i guess.

Because they are nowhere as nice as a home made one and making them is not hard. Also making a tried and true recipe you know what you are going to get.

I've only ever done a Nigella Christmas Cake. Never fails.

Have you searched the GN recipe finder? There are several recipes there for Christmas cake. One of them (Jane Grigson’s Christmas cake) has whole almonds.
