What to buy DH for our Golden Wedding Anniversary?

Is there a rose plant featuring Golden Anniversary ? I'm sure it would give pleasure as you watch it flowering each year.

We agreed on our golden wedding 2 years ago not to buy anything for one another we went for a lovely meal instead

DH is very hard to buy anything for.?
Our golden wedding anniversary was earlier this year, lovely holiday abroad cancelled of course, and we hadn’t planned presents ( as neither of us particularly wanted anything.)
Neither could we do anything with family at the time, with lockdown, so will hope to have our special anniversary next year now ( will it be any better?)?

I once created a hamper for a golden wedding anniversary - it was filled with things from the supermarket with 'gold' in the name. So golden syrup, golden grahams, McVities gold biscuits. I was surprised at the wide choice available.

I always forget Not on The High Street!!

I really want something a bit silly but significant - they might have just the thing.

How about a beautiful paperweight or e.g. a glass bowl, with gold (or gold look -alike) swirled in the glass?

Unfortunately my husband never lived long enough for our Golden wedding but my son and daughter in law went to the Lake District to the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon. It rained on both occasions.

Whisky sounds good to me and maybe gold cufflinks with both of your initials on,well,that`s if he wears them.

How about a copy of a newspaper published on your wedding day.

For our Golden Wedding I bought my husband a pair of really good wellies and a boot bag. He’s a bird watcher and unlike most of the presents I have bought home over the years, these get used regularly.

I usually buy him a 'good' whisky for our wedding anniversary,, marydoll, but I bought him one for his birthday as we were going to buy something together for our anniversary. Best laid plans and all that.

He's not keen on port paddyanne.

We have a tradition, for our silver anniversary we chose, and bought together, a silver photo frame. In it we put a miniature photo of our wedding day, with a personal message to each other tucked in the back.

For our ruby we did the same, the frame having two small rubies each placed in a love heart on the top two corners of the frame.

And now we have a gold frame. That couple in those frames never seem to get any older.

If your husband likes whisky, you can have bottles engraved with a message.

some vintage port made in the year you were married? I buy froma Vintage Wine site for special birthdays quite often and you dont have to spend a fortune .2 fab 40 year old wines in aset with tools and a lovely velvet lined box for my SIL was under £100

I bought dh a chunky silver bracelet, kate. It might be in my jewellery box along with gold bracelet he bought me!

It will be our 50th WA next year so I had better get my thinking cap on too.

For our wedding in 1971 I gave DH a small silver propelling pencil I think it cost £5.00 from an Antiques shop. He still keeps it safely.
