Shopaholics

Well, I’m not....am buying online.
Just found a couple of very nice Mantaray Summer dresses half price at Debenhams online...result!

Yes I am and when this is over I'll be on a mega shopping spree!!

I cannot stand shopping! I much prefer to get everything online. I'm a very regular Amazon shopper - I've sent the GC some books, shower gels, activity kits, for Easter.

I'd been doing my grocery shopping online with Asda for about 6 years, but since the virus, I haven't once managed to get a delivery slot. I've had to do the shopping IN the shop, which I hate. When all this is over, I'm looking forward to NOT going into supermarkets

I ony go shopping for food/drinks/cards/toiletries etc.
Other than that 90% on-line.

SalsaQueen, I'm with you. I don't mind buying things but shopping is so labour intensive and unsatisfying that I only bother with online shopping now.

IF I could go into shops and get what I want, I'd do it. But they never have what I want.

As a rule I don’t go shopping unless I have to, so def not a shopaholic, but have been buying a fair bit online - e.g. birthday present for Gdd, knitting wool, and today, some seeds and compost. Milkman will usually bring compost but like so many extras lately, it’s out of stock.

They’re only things I’d have bought in the shops anyway, though. And despite frequent emails from two companies I buy clothes from, I’ve nobly resisted the temptation to buy - I have enough summer things.

I prefer to go out to actually see the goods when I'm buying clothes. You can't really decide what will be right from online shopping. Even when you know and are confident in you style choices the sizing differs so much. Not just between stores and makes but even within the same store and make. I can be anything between a size 14 and 18 even when just shopping in M and S. Then there is the whole palaver of sending back sizes you don't want. I don't mind buying on line if I can take back what isn't suitable to a local store but I try never to buy on line if I have to traipse to a post office to send back. Even worse was a coat for my GS from some trendy shop where wrong sizes had to be taken back to a designated shop ...no ...any post office wouldn't do! So being an idle minded person I like to go shopping, try on, choose, leave unwanted items behind me and go home

Even if you use online, I think you can be a shopaholic. I like physically going into shops to choose but am a big fan of ebay. Not using at the moment as I'm not convinced of the reliability of some sellers/post services.

I enjoy browsing round the shops and do end up buying things I may not have needed.
Also there is the trip to the cafe to meet friends or alone for coffee and cake. I am saving money and also realise I was wasting time.

We’re all so differently aren’t we? I hate shopping so I say I’m like the SAS-in, buy, out! ?

I’m saving at least £15 a week just on coffee out in my favourite italianncafè.......I’ve just ordered some t shirts from Gap and a dress from Zara though......

Not shopping ATM because I'm concerned about the workers conditions, plus the delivery staff. I wouldn't want to be out there, in the virus, so don't want to force others to do it on my behalf either.

Before lockdown I used to go out most mornings and get a few things from local shops. Mainly for the exercise.
Now rarely go into a shop.

Well quite honestly I am bereft, I adore shopping, all shopping, I love a food shop, I spent half a day once in an Italian delicatessen, had to be dragged out by my family, nick nack shops, department stores, Liberty is my all time fave, but, I haven’t been near a shop for six weeks and shan’t be going anytime soon! But hopefully when this is all over and I’m alive to tell the tale, oh boy, will I make up for lost time, my family will think it’s Christmas come early, actually may not be before Christmas, who knows, but I’m happy now just to wake up and still be breathing?

We are in fact saving a lot of money!

It was a hobby and an obsession to go and "browse for fun" - we knew it our time pass was not cheap but we didn't have concrete numbers

I am learning a lot from this experience and hope to adopt new healthier shopping habits when this is over

I'm one of the "hate" shopping brigade but hate is a strong word so will just say I avoid it if at all possible. A few years ago now DH and I had a long weekend in Chicago and on the way back to the airport our taxi driver asked if I had enjoyed shopping on the "Magnificent mile". When I said I didn't shop he slammed on the brakes and said he was taking me back - he couldn't have someone in his cab that hadn't shopped "the mile"!!! My DGS thinks it's great that I can go into a shop and come out with just what I went in for - his Mum seems to have a full trolley or basket each time!!!

Very rarely shop online, like some others I prefer to try things on. But rarely go shopping anyway, even just window shopping is expensive with all the coffee and cakes we have. I'd rather do something outside in the fresh air to be honest.
The only place I really loiter is B&Q or hardware shops - my porn, as my OH calls it. I can spend an hour just buying sandpaper and polyfilla

When this is over we may not have any shops left - what we had was pretty dire, all the same chains selling the same things and complaining that people didn't spend enough but after this we may find many don't reopen.

I do shop online and have still bought the odd thing but I am also used to going out most days even if it's just to the local shop for bread. I am finding myself looking at stuff online and thinking I might not be here to use it later on (morbid I know) so yes - saving money and will hopefully benefit later on when we get back to normal!

Not a shopaholic, but I do miss browsing in the shops. Normally on a Saturday I would pick us essentials, then browse a few shops.

Since lockdown, I haven't needed to purchase anything. This may make my future shopping more specific; for example needing specific colours of new t-shirts rather than just going to see the shops and buying what was in stock in my size, perhaps buying something a bit frivolous.

Nannylovesshopping I think you and I would get along very well

I miss going to the shops, I have however transferred to online shopping to try and help the economy and my favourite retailers
