It depends on what she's like for getting up, too.

What time does she normally go to bed? Try to stick to her normal routine.

Good uck with getting her up at 6.30 am, you are likely to have one grumpy GC.

Our 10 year old gd goes to bed at 7.30.

There's a big difference between our times, silver.

I did wonder if my time is a bit too permissive.

Nanny is she doing school work from home? If so she will need school day bed times.

Ha ha MissA. Its only just been upped from 7 pm. She would like it to be later of course, but she does have a read before putting the light out.

Each child is very different but 6.30 am may well be a real shock for her but she’ll adjust if she has to. You’ll benefit from an hour or two on your own in the evenings so factor that in as well. Good luck and hope it works well for you both.

I think I was very strict until about age 11ish, then relaxed it a bit more.
My daughter enjoyed going to bed, anyway.

My view was, and is, that if they need waking up every morning, they need to go to bed earlier.

Should be staying at home anyway not coming and going between home granny and aunt

Lighter nights aren't going to help much if this is a new arrangement, but a bath and drink at 9pm should do the trick to give her at least 8 hours sleep when you have to get her up early.
Then again it depends on what time she's used to going to bed, though when in your care it's your rules.

On school days DGD, aged 12, is up at 6.45. School starts at 8.45 and she has a mile and a half walk to get there.

I'd stick to her usual times. Ask her parents. I can't think why you'd ask us.

My four never needed much sleep (like me) so it was 9 or 10ish. They'd all be awake by 5.30!
