MMR vaccine plus preschool booster

I've just realised that measles etc,is caused by a virus so I can't figure out why I read they 'use live bacteria!

Any guidance much appreciated.

My 3.5 year old DGS has just had the above. I read that it's a 'live' vaccine. Does that mean that he could be potentially infectious?
I only ask this as I have a slightly compromised immune system and was seriously ill with an infection a couple of years back.
Sorry for the ignorance - but 'googling' left me confused.
