microwave with fan oven

Sorry, I lost the first part of the reply.

Last year I started a discussion on these when I was in the process of moving to a flat with a smallish kitchen and was considering replacing the oven with one of these.

Did that and have used this a Samsung for the past nine months - very happily. Only part which does not work well is the grill, and I have purchased a small counter top electric grill for this purpose.

For everything else it is great. You will need to take time at the beginning to learn the controls and sort out heats and times. I find it quicker than my last large fan oven.

I have cooked just about everything in this, Victoria Sponges, quiche, pastry, regularly make bread, belgium buns, roast potatoes, roast full size chicken. Have not found anything I am unable to use it for.

When using it as an oven I can use all my old metal cooking items, I am very happy with it.

For buns (as for fairy cakes), I did purchase a couple of small ones with just six holes as those will go round. If I turn off the turntable,do have to remember to stop about halfway through and turn the item around as the back cooks quicker than the front.

Obviously, when using it as a microwave, normal rules as to utensils you can use in there apply.

If you normally cook for two or more people you may find it a little limiting.

We bought ours 2-3 years ago so you need to check reviews for the current model.

We always go by the Which reviews.
We have a Panasonic combi. We like it so much that we bought a second one for the caravan. It also toasts well.
It was a good price too.

It’s worth looking at Which. They do very thorough tests on all sorts of household appliances.
We always check Which before a purchase and have made some savings and bought good items.

I think you can take a short term membership for £1, it’s a worthwhile investment if you’re planning to spend hundreds.

Ours is a Panasonic combi. I use it all the time. I only use the main oven for family occasions like Christmas. Other times it's where I store my pots and pans.

I have a Neff single oven and a Neff combo microwave side by side. The combi grills, fan oven and microwave. I find it very useful to have an additional oven sometimes or to be able to use the grill in the combi whilst using the other main oven.

I really use mine mostly as a second oven when cooking a large meal but as a microwave too . Mine is a sharp but my only complaint is that it does not have quite enough variables in the oven temperature. I cannot set it to 170 degrees just 160 or 180 .

I am dispensing with my regular oven, as it is low down & I need the space for a cupboard in my galley kitchen. I would like a slimline table top microwave combination fan assisted oven with grill. I have heard that 'Inverter Technology' is better than no inverter. Can anyone recommend a good quality one please? There are so many!
I have read that the Panasonic one is recommended, but would prefer to hear a recommendation from a regular user

We have had 2 Sharps Combination Microwave ovens , they are a brilliant kitchen addition.

I very often use the conventional cooker for small roasts and the micro grill for jacket spuds for quickness.

Don't go for too small a capacity though as you will definitely get a use out of the availability of having two levels for cooking.
