Yes. Alzheimers Society has a wonderful supportive forum called Talking Point.
I found it invaluable in mum's last few months.

The Alzheimer's Society Talking Point board which ninathenana so rightly says can be invaluable is here forum.alzheimers.org.uk/ I have found it useful just to read although I have put on a couple of posts. Having said that I would recommend your MiL joining GN as well useful in that she will then be discussing things other than Alzheimer's.

I agree with gracesgran. We have a few posters who are caring for relatives with dementia. In fact, it might be good to have a permanent thread.

The isolation of dementia carers is something many people who have no experience do not always understand. A good friend in the village finds our 2 monthly book club a lifeline as it gets her out for a couple of hours, similarly a coffee or tea at the local nursery. About 2 weeks after Easter we went off to lunch together and she confided that it had been the first time she had had time to herself in 4 weeks. Even an Internet site can provide 'escape in your head' as well as support and like minded people.

I can only empathize with your MiL. My life is awful at the moment. On the list for a new knee and don't know how we are going to cope but I must have it done as I am disabled now. Family will help when they can. If your MiL joined GN we can all moan together and she would get some light relief by joining in generally. Do encourage her to do it.
