That's a compliment?

I had a friend who was good at giving "back handed compliments."

If I ever wore ear-rings which I never would, I would wear ones like yours.

I'm not sure if DH would notice if I had a face-lift ....

He would probably think I had a different hairstyle.

When I told him, a few years ago, that I'd been inappropriately touched in a crowded tube train my DH merely said " There are some very weird people about." I'm quite sure that wasn't a compliment.

Yes, the sad thing is he did mean it as a compliment. He followed it up with 'you're looking better lately'
