You're welcome!

I noticed it written on the top right of the image Allira posted and thought it worth a try.

Oh, I really do need to go to you-know-where!

I am overdue an appointment.

Gosh thank you jusnoneed I'm impressed! That looks like the original too.

Out of curiosity, what made you search for "Spun out #1"?

Allira Wed 11-Sept-24 08:24:29

Well done!

I was going to start searching through my patterns this morning 🙂

Thanks everyone for rapid response!

Elegran yes that’s it! I’d be so grateful if you could find it.

Allira I’ll have a look at further instructions, the PDF is for the adult version. I’ll keep looking myself too. I don’t want to pay too much for the pattern, what with the cost of wool smile

Amazingly the pattern is from 1968.

More instructions (if you can follow them).

I'm surprised it is so difficult to find the pattern, because it would be ideal for knitting for charity too.

Elegran Tue 10-Sept-24 20:48:18

Crossed posts with Allira That is the same construction, though it wasn't the same pattern.

Elegran Tue 10-Sept-24 20:46:38

Is this the one that is knitted in one piece by casting on enough stitches to go from front neck edge, down the front, round the corner and along the bottom, across the back and then up the other front to the other neck edge. Then you just keep knitting, turning the right angle that you can see on the fronts? It looks impossible until you sew it up, then all becomes clear?

If so, I used to have the pattern - I may still have it somewhere. I can't look tonight, but I will do it tomorrow.

Is this it? I hope you can download and enlarge it

Oh, goodness, I wondered where I'd seen that before and remembered that someone came to our craft group and demonstrated them. She had made several, in adult sizes which she modelled for us.

I had a go at knitting a small version but wasn't very successful

There's a book of Elizabeth Zimmerman designs, including this one on Amazon but it's £23 plus £6.99 postage.

I'm not sure if I still have the pattern but if you aren't successful I could have a look for it or ask our group leader.

Dear GN knitters, I'm looking for the above pattern (see pic from Ravelry, but no pattern). I used to have it, but I seem to have lost it as I haven't knitted it for some years. When I last knitted it for a baby, the Mum raved about its ease and comfort (it's knitted across) and longevity as her baby grew.

I'm happy to pay but I'm also hoping that someone may have a copy somewhere...

Or a similar pattern? Thanks in anticipation.
