Take it to a local picture framer. I've done this a few times, it's not that expensive and looks far better than an off the shelf effort from the likes of Ikea.

Why you don't get some beauty frame and wrap with some nice box...

I can't think of any ways to pack it which would simultaneously be strikingly beautiful and highly protective of the picture in its frame and glass. If I were you I would first gift wrap it, with a sheet of foamboard, cut to size, against the glass, then wrap it in bubble wrap and pack it into a large box with extra bubble wrap, polystyrene beads or similar filling. Then send it by a reputable courier.

Thankyou Coolgran65. But I really need to frame it. Otherwise, it won't look good. I need to pack it in an awesome way.

I sent a picture via post to USA but removed it from the frame as it was too big otherwise. I bought sheets of polystyrene on line, It was very cheap. Two protective layers of the polystyrene on either side, then bubble wrap, then two sheets of cardboard as an outer cover. All then covered with plastic bin bags and well sellotaped. Worked well.

Could it be put in a box to protect it before wrapping

Are you thinking of ordinary mail ?
Is it not possible (though probably expensive) to have it collected and delivered by a courier firm. The foamboard Elegran mentions sounds ideal or a sheet of thin cardboard over the picture/glass then good old bubble wrap

I wasn't criticising you, RuthJohn - well, maybe I was criticising those spammers who do the "Hey, what a bargain" thing, but not you.

I don't know much about the mail system in the States/Canada, but I do know that here (UK) you have to pack things carefully or they end up at the bottom of a heap, with something heavy on top of them. Good luck.

That'll be it, Bellanonna It always seems a bit odd to me, but I suppose it is just a different greeting! "Hi" is more used over here, though even that is left out of almost all GN posts.

Usually when a post on GN starts with "Hey" it is an ad disguised as conversation. (As in "Hey! I bought the most marvellous XXXX from the YYYY store at ZZZZZ.com Check it out!"

Can you roll it and put it in one if those stiff cylinder containers, and send it like thst?

Buy some sheets of foamboard from the net and sandwich it between them. It is light but pretty strong.
