Our washer/dryer which we've had for over 20 years and had it repaired many times under an extended warranty which we were glad of finally packed up this week.
Yesterday we decided to buy a new one online from Currys. So as we are pensioners we placed an order to be delivered today (Sunday).
Order placed was for Washer/Dryer bundled with a 3.5m extension hose, paid extra for delivery, installation and taking our old one away.
Had an email to say washer/dryer would be delivered between 7.40am and 11.40am.
All good up to now. Now had an email to say extension hose would be delivered by DPD and they would let us know when it will come.
So if the washer arrives and no extension hose they will have to use whatever comes with it. So the bundle they offered is useless.
Wouldn't you think that the hosepipe would come with the washer. I am annoyed and will ring them up as I don't think I should have to pay for someone else to install the pipe.
I can't believe they wouldn't send the two items together.

AIBU To Be So Annoyed at the Stupidity of This
(25 Posts)Not bright, are they ?
Lol nanna8 most certainly not.
If they can't fit it without the extension you want surely they will have to come back???
What a mess!
That's what I said to DH NotSpaghetti.
I'll see what the morning brings.
Why is life so full of frustrations? It is ridiculous and I would certainly attempt to sort it out before the delivery day. Hopefully they can contact DPD for a time of delivery. You are no doubt paying a good amount for the delivery and installation etc and this you paid to make the purchase as trouble free as possible. I would press this point and say you trusted Curry’s to give you good service and that is why you purchased from them. Do hope all will work out well.
Grrrrr!
It's not fit for purpose without the hose, is it?
I hope they act swiftly to your complaint.
Definitely make a telephone call regarding this as the hose has obviously been ordered as a separate issue.
You paid for the whole as a package & the delivery/fitting can’t take place without the additional hose !!
Can you explain that & advice you will have to refuse delivery if that is the case ?
I find that service across the board no matter what it involves isn't as good as it used to be - items missing, delays, shoddy workmanship etc etc. In fact I am usually very surprised when things go exactly to plan and you actually get good customer service rather than lip service, it's such a rarity these days!
Phone Curry’s and emphasise the hose must reach you before the washing machine.
Ask to speak with a Supervisor and explain your predicament . Don’t be put off.
DPD are pretty good and offer a 24 hour delivery so it should be straightforward.
Good Luck Moonwatcher
I’ve just had similar issue with a bed.
The mattress was faulty, a new one was del’d but faulty one was to be collected by a different Haulier (who took their time giving me a collection day). Many phone calls, much frustration.

This is spot on! I remember things were not so awful before COVID but since every customer service has got worse!
I’d be fuming! That’s ridiculous!
I had to read this twice. Who on earth thought this was acceptable? I would be reading chapter and verse to customer services and emailing the CEO to let him or her know how their company operates.
If anyone thinks including the CEO is extreme, here goes. One Christmas I had bought on of my GD's a My Little Pony Castle. Her DD had to fit it all together and it was utter rubbish. Nothing was in in alignment and even gluing it together was no good. I was so cross that I emailed the CEO of Mattel, on Christmas Day, and politely let rip. The result was the updated Pony Castle free of charge and with an apologetic reply. Go for it Moonwatcher1904.
Thankyou for all your comments.
To update you all the washer is now here and plumbed in with an extra long hose pipe they had on their van. It seems the different parts come from different depots so the one on order is still on it's way.
You couldn't make it up.
They could have had the extension delivered to the other depot and brought the two items together. It might have taken a day longer but that would have saved the hassle.
Very pleased you’re all sorted Moonwatcher. I have no faith in Curry’s - once the order went through, my poor Sis-inL was fobbed off at the shop with ‘nothing we can do, it’s in the hands of the distribution centre’. She’d paid for the old appliance to be taken away, but those chaps knew nothing about the whereabouts of the new one. Two delivery dates were given, but they passed with no sign of the goods, then her son (who had taken over) was told the integrated fridge/freezer she’d ordered last September wasn’t available. A slightly cheaper appliance was available and was delivered on Christmas Eve - 12 weeks in all.
Joined-up thinking is a thing of the past. It seems AI, QR Codes and Algorythms make the decisions. And they're far from capable of applying straight forward logic.
I bought a machine for our new kitchen & when it arrived there was no hose (standard)
Straight on the phone to them & on the 3rd transfer to the "expert" at this, he told me the hoses come seperately & did I want to purchase one?
Checked website & hose is included so yet another phonecall.
If their only job is answering queries about washing machines, SURELY they know that they are included with the machine in 99.9% of cases?
I know it's a bit late in this instance for Moonwatcher but local Euronics stores are really so good.
Last month I needed to replace my Bosch washing machine so I ordered the newer updated version of my old Bosch.
I also paid for fitting and disposal of the old model.
When they came to fit it the dimensions had changed and it was too deep and therefore I couldn't open the cupboard next to it.
This was after the plug was cut off so it could be hard wired for me.
They were excellent!
The fitter immediately phoned the shop and explained the situation. They took away the machine and about three days later a new machine from a different manufacturer was delivered and fitted in place.
Incredible service and all with a smile!
It's too late for you but these people Marks Electrical are absolutely amazing for customer service. They do appliances but also do everything else as well.

Currys are useless; customer service is the last thing they care about; regrettably far too many young staff who do not know their products and do not care. Things apparently in stock are nowhere to be found despite appearing on their website.I have discovered two local firms near where I live who give a far better service; bought a TV and a Dyson hoover recently and hopefully will never need Curry,s again.
blue14 there is a Euronics up the road from us. I never thought of them. I will remember that if our Fridge/Freezer packs up.
Just curious - why do you need an extension hose ?
I just don't use that electrical goods company any more. Terrible service at every level.
I never use Curry’s for my electricals I go to an independent company that is based in the south-west with about 6 stores.
Excellent customer service from them and they do price match as well..🤗
