I couldn't watch them either and am no longer able to watch the scenes of desperate Palestinians trying to get food, and the pictures of starving and injured children.
Quote Devorgilla Fri 01-Aug-25 20:00:41 To be honest AB I couldn't watch those. When I went to Auschwitz neither my husband nor I could go into the gas chambers. We are not Jewish, but we are of that era. I just couldn't stand in a room where I knew people had been deliberately put to death.
I can understand that , i get upset if Auschwitz is shown in a documentary,

There are some videos released of the Hamas butchery 7th October 2023, not of the rapes , strangling, burning out of respect to the victims, people are asking for more videos to show what the Israelis suffered
"Quoting biblical stories as facts helps nobody" Well that's the main case for the creation of the State of Israel, David It is the "Promised land" for the "chosen people" and is the main reason for the Palestinians being in the situation they are now in. ie in Gaza and the West Bank. No it's not "PC to kill millions" and I much prefer to live in a world of unresolved or difficult to resolve conflicts than one where there are no consequences for countries that kill their neighbours over a patch of land. Call me an softie but I much prefer talking to killing!
Quoting biblical stories as facts helps nobody, history is always distorted there would have been no Gaza problem 2000 or even 200 yrs ago. The rebels would have been starved or slaughtered within a few months - end of problem, modern times we have developed a concience, it’s not PC to kill millions so conflicts drag on and on without any resolution.
Foxie is right. But until each side genuinely wants conflict to end, negotiations will fail. Israel's leader Netanyahu is a callous despot whose intention is to destroy Gaza, leaving Hamas with no base. He has no interest in relaxing hostilities. Hamas, much weakened, has its back to the wall and hasn't a lot to lose. It is unclear to what extent Hamas has the interest of the Palestinian people at heart.
Just to add to the concept of the End Days, I taught with someone who firmly believes that if the Israelis/Jews are homed in America, that's it for the world. A case of being careful what you wish for.
In the Book of Daniel, the "abomination of desolation" refers to an idolatrous act that defiles the Temple in Jerusalem, causing it to become desolate and unfit for worship. This concept is first introduced in Daniel 11:31 and is further developed in Daniel 12:11. The term is also used in the New Testament, particularly in Matthew 24:15, in reference to events that will precede the end times
I dont know my Bible History well enough, nor the Bible itself[who does], but there is something about moving things in Jerusalem which will start the chain of events for The End.
Quote David49 Thu 31-Jul-25 12:50:24 Anniebach End Israel,? it cannot go anywhere else, it is home They will disperse to whoever will give them assylum, the choice is simple, defeat terrorism or accept terrorism rules the Middle East
They lived like that for centuries, yet are condemned for wanting/needing to be home
