Love it or hate it?

Love to look at it when it first falls but don't like having to travel in it.
GD was visiting her BF at his university and sent a photo of the snow and a Christmas tree, it looked like a pretty Christmas card.

I LOVE snow! It's so cold and white and fluffy!

It’s pretty to look at and ok if you can stay home warm and cosy. For me it’s a big no as I hate the cold and all that damp air. Give me sun and warmth any day.

Love snow! Made an extra trip out in it with the dogs, bouncing around. There's no bad weather, only bad clothes. We make such a fuss about 'extremes' in this country. As long as everyone stays safe, I like a bit of 'weather.'

Just hate. Reynauds - snow = painful hands and feet.

So long as it’s “proper snow” the soft white powdery kind which settles, and I don’t need to drive, I live the snow!

Not the grey slushy mess which we seem to get!

Mind you cold and damp really affect my painful conditions and I do have to keep warm

I love walking in the snow. Sadly none here but 10miles away they had loads

I love snow and especially the silence when it muffles sounds..

I didn’t have my daily walk yesterday but thought I would go out today. I went to the end of the road, only to find that it was still too icy under foot and came home! Here in France, the owners of properties are supposed to clear away the snow on the public pavement along side their properties but some haven’t.
Looking forward to Sunday, as on the television weather forecast last night it was said that we would be in 19 degrees of sunshine. I think they were dreaming, as on my phone it predicts 16 and cloudy.

Loathe it. I am total grump in the winter anyway and that just makes me worse.

Hate the winter generally, but love snow!

I hate it. We had to cancel a night out last night.

Me too! Who cares about cold fingers and ears (and chilblains on the toes) though I do sympathise with Reynaud's sufferers. For me, there's always been something magical about snow, especially since the winter of 62-63 when Christmas lasted 6 weeks: we were snowed in and our grandparents with us! They had come to stay for 4 days over Christmas, but couldn't leave till roads to their remote part of Sussex were clear enough!! Snow lingered till my sister's birthday in March....

I’ve never really liked it even as a child. Had the most horrendous journey home from work a good few years ago. Took 2 hours to do a 20 minute journey and by the time I got home I was shaking with nerves. Love being retired and not having to worry about going out in it now. I hate Winter and the dark nights and wrapping up.

It depends. I love it when I’m indoors looking out and it’s at the pretty stage. Hate it when it’s turned to slush and iced over. I used to love walking in it, but I worry about slipping now I’ve osteopenia, and that just makes me feel very old.

Hate it. I’m always scared of slipping on the ice. The only time I like to see it is on Christmas cards

Ì like snow and always have - from inside, preferably, but a walk in it will good, too. There is something so "right" about snow and frost on a sunny day. However, I will not drive in snow and ice.

I live in the country near the sea and mountains covered in snow looks beautiful but hope it stays there. I simply cannot get the car out of the garage when it snows as the lane is on a slope and I don't have winter tyres or chains to put on them.

I love snow when I don’t have to drive in it! I also love watching ski-ing on tv, especially the Wengen race held every January. We went on a ski-ing holiday once in the Cairngorms back in 1978. I found muscles I didn’t know I had! 🤣

If it was guaranteed to completely vanish within 24 hours then I might just welcome it. It does look magical, initially, but then it goes slushy and muddy coloured, freezes solid overnight covering pavements with a lethal film of ice and it becomes just horrid!

Some years ago after a good snowfall, DH and I wrapped up warm to walk to the shops. On the way we went past a Victorian water tower and we saw someone in a car taking a pic of it so we scurried past out of the way. When our local paper came out, there we were in the front cover. He'd got us in synch with arms swinging together. Fresh snow is lovely but I hate the ice on roads and pavements. Out drive is on a slope and many a time I have slid past the car door, trying to get into it. We are well stocked.up with grit etc now and our days off striding off into the snow are sadly behind us. But we do have that lovely pic to remind us of a lovely snowy day.

The first beautiful sight through the window in the morning, from the warm house, is one thing. Trying to navigate the pavements is quite something else, as I can find the one square inch of ice and will promptly go flat on my back. It used to be fairly amusing, but now it really hurts. Also, we cannot get our cars off the steep driveway. OH slid his backwards into the garage door some years ago. A very expensive accident.

I hate it. I live in a rural area and look after animals. Snow makes life so much harder when caring for grazing animals and transporting food etc., My coat is never dry and my feet are never warm. It doesn't even look good when a tractor has slushed it up and then re-frozen makes getting around very difficult. So it's a NO from me!
