To wonder why famous people feel they have to over share personal stuff

I had always avoided Mrs. Brown's Boys, as that seemed to me the epitome of vulgar. (Which doesn't mean it's wrong, just that it doesn't appeal to me).

However, I was caught five minutes of her giving herself a Brazilian in the cupboard under the stairs, and I was absolutely hysterical, it was so funny.

Never seen another episode, though.

I agree, not funny. I don’t find many female comedians funny. Funny is so much better without be smutty, not necessary.

Talking of over-sharing... What about Prince Harry? Obviously not in the crude way, but do we need all that personal stuff aired everywhere? No - I know I don't HAVE to watch/listen!

Generally, I find Michael McIntyre annoying but his skit about flat feet had me howling with laughter, it was so true 😂

It’s strange the way different ‘comedians’ or ‘funny sitcoms’ appeal or don’t.
For me, anyone with the surname Carr-not ever funny. Eddie Izzard and Jon Richardson, not remotely funny.
John Bishop-very funny at the theatre, not always on TV. Billy Connolly funny live and on TV.
The Royle Family was on my ‘not funny’ list, until I watched it with DD-and then we carried on watching because it suddenly was funny. (No idea how that happened).
I used to like Jonathon Ross when I first saw him, but he grew less and less funny.
But inexplicably, for the DD who liked the Royle Family and several posters on here, I like Michael McIntyre.
Victoria Wood lived near us and I suppose partly why I liked her was because she was lovely when we met her.

Humour is a very subjective thing, so while some people may not like what they describe as 'so-called comedians', others may find them very funny indeed. And bear in mind that some may be totally different on stage in a stand-up show to how they may come across on television.

My late mum used to describe many comedy acts as “so-called comedians”.

Have to say I agree with her, and don’t really watch any much if I can help it. Don’t like Jonathan Woss, (I can’t say my r’s either) or Sarah Millican. To me, they just aren’t funny.

I used to like Kath and Kim. Do you have that there ? I can’t stand the vicar of Dibley, very boring. Good job we are all different though. I’ve never heard of Katherine Ryan, not keen on sexist jokes from either males or females so I probably wouldn’t like her.

Maybe some of not finding women 'funny' is because of misogyny and women have to behave themselves and act in a certain way

Joanna Lumley can be very 'vulgar' (think Ab Fab, I will never forget her description of sex with two men) but carries it off with such pzazz.

Dunno why this is!
Obvs there are funny female actors but their lines are scripted for them, and situation comedy is different to stand up.
Before anyone says Victoria Wood, I didn’t find her funny either.
