How embarrassing ?

I do say "silly cow " or similar when I have done something stupid, not a rare occurence !
A very good friend of mine, a psychologist always asserts it is fine. That is unless you talk back !

…I’d worry if I didn’t talk to myself - perfectly normal! He (work an) may have given you a fright! ! !

pretend you are on a hands-free. I had someone passing me in the street say "hello" and i thought he was talking to me until i realised he was on his phone!

These days so many young people walk around with earphones in holding conversations so I assume if I'm talking to myself in public, people will assume I'm on the phone. I've have quite long conversations, especially practicing for a difficult conversation I need to have. I imagine the answers I get and reply accordingly! I think it's quite common as I've always done it, though I occasionally do get funny looks!

I do also talk to inanimate objects and shout at the telly!

Often in the car or out for a walk on my own, I will ( fairly quietly) talk to myself or maybe pray for someone. I've had the odd strange look, but it doesn't bother me ( it might have more when I was younger I suppose). Talking to myself is alright as long as no one replies.

I have ALWAYS talked to myself and it’s a habit I’m too old to break now! I do get some funny looks sometimes which I largely ignore ( I’ll never see that stranger again, right?) or I might try to turn it into a busy hum! My children often challenge me but I laugh it off as being part of senility (it’s not!). I think it enables me to work things through in my mind without disturbing anyone else. I have no intention of ever trying to stop as I can remember doing it from childhood onwards. And it’s a pretty harmless habit really, isn’t it?!

This is so reassuring for me to know I’m not the only one! I re-enact entire scenarios out loud and sort out all sorts of stuff that’s going on in my head. To my ultimate mortification, I had a conversation with myself about my son, while driving his car, only to realise that his dashcam was picking up every word…I still wish the ground would swallow me up every time I think about it, but to this day I have no idea if he ever listened to it, and I can’t even find out without landing myself in it ? Strangely, the same son also talks out loud to himself…my husband thinks there’s something seriously wrong with us, but apparently it’s quite a healthy thing to do!

Yes, the radiation that they emit could harm the phone.

It's important to have a good listener to hand!

There is nothing wrong with talking to yourself. However if the walls start talking back to you. That is the time to worry.

I talk to my cats and especially the dogs when I am going out or going to bed. I do also have heated discussions with my late husband when I can't do something or when anything breaks down in the house!! Good job I have no neighbours!!

Most embarrassing time I was spotted was when cleaning one of our local churches and I was trying to spot any cobwebs that I might have missed- saying "Where are you little fluffy dusty things? I need to find you all, and the eight legged beasties that make you too !"
I heard a noise behind me , and there stood the church treasurer , standing there, giving me a very strange look !

Ha ha ...yes ! especially since mask wearing ...I find I am talking to myself with mouth moving behind the mask .........I have told myself I must STOP or I will be doing it without the mask !!!! Also, ha ha again ......I asked our Manageress the other day if she had found a pink pussy cat in the garden as it had fallen from my windowsill ..........like you, I turned round and saw a workman standing behind me !!!! I live in a retirement flat ....I think he wanted to get out fast as he thought it was more like a home for the old and confused (it is over 55's !) ...........I eventually found the pink pussy cat (a wooden cat from Greece !) it had fallen behind a radiator ...dare'nt tell anybody !

I often have to say to people ‘was I talking to myself just now’ and laugh. What’s worrying is that I honestly wouldn’t know if I had been talking to myself as I do it all the time…

I could show you the video if you don’t believe me! I think the phone camera was poking out the top of her clothing, she seemed to have on a loose shirt as the view was obscured from time to time with what seemed to be fabric flapping back and forth as she bent down etc.

I wouldn’t keep my phone in my bra either but I know a number of people who do.

Surely , it would be very uncomfortable .

There was an article and warning against doing it as mobiles can overheat .

Burns created by one were photographed and shown as an example of the danger .

I was worried about

I assumed that the phone was poking over the neckline of the wearer's dress/jumper/top - not that it was entirely concealed. You'd do it that way for easy access, surely? I wouldn't 'keep' my phone in there, but I've been known to use it as a hands-free facilitator .

I talk to the kitchen appliances, when the washer beeps to let me know it is finished I shout " I'm coming" and when it beeps again " yes I heard you the first time". I have an overhead cupboard that I keep banging my head on so I now let rip with fruity language that I would never have dreamt of using when DH was alive. One of these days I will get caught out.

Yesterday a friend who keeps her phone in her bra unwittingly activated the video camera and streamed everything she was doing round her house, broadcasting it live to everyone she knows on Facebook! ?? Luckily, it was fairly mundane stuff, and she hadn’t needed a loo break or anything too embarrassing.

Oh no! That would be mortifying ?. If I did that you can bet your boots that I’d do something I’d never live down.

I keep my phone in my bra it’s the only thing that fills the cup but I look lob sided.
