Any words or phrases that you can't stand?

Just thought of another.... "My bad". The first time I heard that I was . It had to be explained to me what on earth they were saying. What's wrong with "I'm sorry, my mistake"?

Such an annoying term, it reminds me of a streaming cold, not a pleasant experience at all.

The trouble with a skeleton staff is the way the things you throw at them fall through their ribs. Not a pretty sight. DD says it's old-fashioned to throw things at the staff, but how else do you get them to behave?

Moist is horrible, chewbacca, I agree. There are books by Terry Pratchett, whose work I normally enjoy, which I find hard to read because one of the characters is called Moist. Why?

Doesn't one of the footmen act up to cover your butler's absences? I look on it as training for one or other of them. They're obviously vieing for the top job. Sweet boys.

We have dinner every evening.
Quite frankly, I think I will change it to supper as it is quite exhausting to lay the table with damask tablecloth, napkins, silverware and candles each evening.

Not to mention the starching, ironing of tablecloths and napkins and the cleaning of the silverware each day.

We have supper every evening! Dinner would be a more formal evening meal and we'd expect to have that if staying at a hotel or invited to a dinner party. Tea would be a cup of tea and a biscuit at about 4 O'clock.
There has been a thread on regional variations of names for meals. Not much agreement!

I dislike the term Snowflake it's just rude and unnecessary
My DS used to say go figure drove me insane and my DD would say mirror mirror when she was a teenager if I ever tried to comment on her behaviour

At Sainsbury’s a couple of days ago, a very young and very new cashier asked me “and how has your day been thus far” !! It was 8.30am!!
Also hate the word ....lavatory....what’s wrong with loo??

Should/could/would of instead of have, and how I loathe the word pensioner - redolent of perms, old macs and moaning.

'The amount of people' has me screaming ' The number of....' at the radio or TV.
