Insightful instead of the perfectly good English word 'perceptive'
Bradford, I take your point, but this is an example of two words with different roots meaning the same thing, 'Insightful' is of Anglo-Saxon origin, whereas 'perceptive' is of Latin origin. However, 'insightful' must be one of those words that migrated across the Atlantic and has come back as an intruder!
