Now that's quite funny Paperback.
Why has this caused such a fuss in the 21st century and why the concern about the queen's response. Her queenly anatomy must be similar to other mere mortals.

They don't seem to do the same for male genitals, for some reason that would be considered obscene.

Good grief, as someone who's never felt the need to inspect my nether regions with a mirror, that's actually quite scary looking. Enough to make small children have nightmares. Should make for some challenging conversations between some parents and small children I should imagine.

I also feel uncomfortable about the design and not because of some old-fashioned sense of virtue but it does seem to reduce the value and image of a Woman.
However, I read somewhere that a certain hairstyle of a Japanese Geisha had similar connotations but , I guess, in that situation it might have served a specific purpose!

Well, its just as well to be familiar with your bits, because these areas are susceptible to a number of conditions, including cancer.

Why would the designer think her majesty would want to see this exhibit?

I have worked as a midwife and I think of female genitalia as any other part of our functioning bodies. I find attitudes towards female genitalia on here quite puzzling.
I do think cynically that Body Shop is just hoping for such reaction. Any publicity is good publicity......

Greeneyedgirl don't you know the Queen doesn't have a bottom? Does anyone remember that comedy sketch? Was it Monty Python or Peter Cook? Arguing that the Queen isn't like us and doesn't have a bottom or go to the toilet

Seeing a few female body bits is not going to cause this 72 year old pensioner to have a heart attack, suggested by Vampirequeen. Modern day pensioners have pretty much seen it all.

Maybe the RHS can explain why a vagina is being displayed in the manner and detail as reported? Women don’t usually spend their gardening day sunbathing the interior of their vagina. So, there has to be a story behind the decision to display such a provocative and dominant sculpture. It will, no doubt, overtake press and visitor interest in the gardens, the flowers and horticultural prowess which the Chelsea Flower Show is famous for. Is the RHS choosing to become sensationalistic? Or has it been forced upon them?

I wonder what Charles and Camilla will make of it, that’s if they go, a fit of the giggles I would think. The Queen won’t blink an eye I’m sure. A few years ago this would have been obscene, how things have changed.

The human form is generally very lovely, ie, Michelangelo’s David, Or Venus de Milo, but internally,the female bits look repulsive.... ?, can smell repulsive, breeding ground for germs, way too much surplus material, not a single redeeming feature in fact.Is CFS the proper place for this talentless bilge? Take it to the Tate modern, and leave,beautiful,fragrant gardens alone!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the lady garden is just a representation of the real thing.

Its a shame to call anything on a human body repulsive, I think.

Is the "internal"on display. Looks like vulva and vaginal orifice to me?

If they let it get overgrown with brambles it would be more realistic.
