GN banner soliciting email add for newsletter

Yes, I've got it too, blocking out the whole screen.

There is a small cross in the top right hand corner of the banner - I clicked on that and it isn't appearing on any other threads now

Why was it suddenly appearing?

It's their forum, IMO they have the right to promote their newsletter on it. Just scroll past it.

Thanks for pointing out the cross Becket never noticed it.

You'd think they could at least program it so that those who are already subscribed don't get the banner. That cross is cunningly camouflaged.

Extremely annoying; keeps appearing on my tablet, where I can't remove it, and on my laptop, where I can.

SarahGransNet all you need to do is to click the cross in the top right-hand corner to close the banner and you won't see it again

I've been trying to do that on my desktop, but it doesn't work! The little 'hand' appears when the cursor is over the cross, but clicking doesn't close the banner!

I had problems too closing it on my PC. It is so irritaing! I gave up in the end.

It worked on my IPad but not on my main computer - drat it ☹️

I have requested to be sent the newsletter several times but I never get it anyway.

This has been cropping up again. This time, there is definitely no cross in the corner to close the window. It takes up so much space on the screen!

Likewise with my tablet, which I use to read but do not have access to comment, ( my choice).
There is no cross in the top right hand corner, and the banner takes up a third of the screen.
Most unnecessary.

I just wish it worked! I've not had a daily newsletter since 21st September, despite signing up again.

I do now get emails alerting me to new posts on threads I am on, or watching. But without a clue as to which thread it is, and no link to click on to get to it!
