This Morning , Holly & Phil Again !!

Have never watched it and doesn't sound as if I'm missing anything!
Don't usually watch daytime Tv, except that I often used to watch Homes Under the Hammer while doing the hated ironing in a spare room. Or Heir Hunters. However can't often indulge in this any more - since retirement Dh is using 'my' ironing room as a study, where he spends hours absorbed in family history research.
Ironing tends to get done on an ad hoc basis now.

Inane chatter. But once these folk get their knees under the table they are gods.

This applies equally to clan Dimbleby, Humphries et al on Beeb.

It's rubbish, I'm afraid. Used to be not too bad, and I'd dip in when at home ( not every time), tried it recently and find it incredibly boring and frankly stupid.

I've never watched it but from what I see and hear Phil and Holly are like overgrown school children.
We used to watch BBC breakfast but gave that up about a year ago.
I confess to watching Homes Under the Hammer if I'm at home.

Today they're interviewing a relative of a couple who claimed to be abducted by aliens in the early Sixties. The interviewee reckoned she had concrete proof...some sort of pink powder. Scientific tests were indeterminate. How is that evidence?

I watched it thinking they'd got evidence because that's what was said at the beginning of the interview. What a waste of time. Switching it off now because I definitely don't want to watch a simpering interview with "the lovely Debbie McGee".

Am listening to radio 4 as I skim GN - 'From our own Correspondent' is on now, Woman's Hour before that. Interesting and informative, nothing about orgasms. (Although there was an interview with a lady who chose prostitution, - "escort" work as opposed to hanging around on street corners - as a career rather than office work).

I used to enjoy watching This Morning from time to time but not any more. Not only because of the unnecessary sexual content but the general 'dumbing down' . Clips of idiotic reality shows, interviews with show business celebrities so called. I don't mind some light hearted entertainment but this constant preoccupation with sex and celebrities is very boring.

I have not watched that show for a very long time and did not realise that they had dropped to such depths. I am assuming hat these people who appear for their 5 minutes of fame are paid handsomely?

BBC1 is also losing me because of their hysterical laughter and "in" jokes. I want to hear the news and weather, zilch else. I may rely on Amazon Alexa in future.

When I watched morning TV during the two mid week days I had off full time work they used to show you hairdressing ideas with 3/4 different models and make up ideas even garden topics and easy household craft what has happened,I certainly don't want to know about 18hr marathons in the bedroom shame on them.

I was beginning to think it was just me who was starting to find This Morning becoming a bit tacky (for want of a better word). I understand that it is a "magazine" type programme, but would prefer it was more "Good Housekeeping" with a smattering of "Vogue", rather than "OK" or "Hello".
Agree with Agus, it's about the lack of standards of decency and self respect which people seem to have forgotten about these days. Goodness, I sound like an old fogey! It's a shame, as they do cover some interesting consumer subjects and tackle important issues such as bullying.

I have never watched this programme, now I know why.
TBH, I decided about 2 years ago not to watch any more daytime TV. Its a thief of your time really. So now no switching on until 6 o'clock news.
Don't get me wrong, if you are house bound or incapacitated it can be a lifeline. That's a different matter.

I loved watching TV programmes like This Morning when I first stopped working - it seemed deliciously decadent and comforting - drinking tea while watching others in the cold outside going to work! Now I can't stand it and find it banal and boring. I don't like the TV on at all in the day at all now apart from news at lunchtime. My DD however has TV on in the day even when not in the room!

I never watch daytime tv either. Can't be bothered with it.

I don't watch daytime TV and I am trying to imagine the mentality of anyone who wants to share such very intimate details with millions of strangers.

I am no prude either, just have standards of decency and self respect but I think some people, which has been proved, will do anything for that 15 minutes of fame

Iam64 I'm not totally against light entertainment, indeed have the odd indulgence but can't be doing with daytime TV!

In previous jobs when I was travelling and in hotels, and breakfast TV seemed to be the only option, I would feel that it was on a sort of loop!

Much prefer Radio 4, even if I do sometimes shout at it!

There you go phoenix, we can start a Grumphreys gang. We hate light entertainment and breakfast telly, we need Radio 4

I don't watch TV until 7.30 pm, much prefer to start the day shouting at John "Grumphreys" on Radio 4!

Thanks Iam64, & All , I sometimes think I take things too seriously, or that I'm turning into my mother,but now I don't feel like a lone old grouch. I guess alot of what passes as entertainment seems pretty benile to me & certainly not worth air time.

not at all norose4. Although I'm not convinced that the feminism that drove the suffragettes and other freedom fighters is alive and thriving in light entertainment. See no sense of humour

Feel better already girls, knowing I m not alone , I so admire the 'Suffergettes ' & what they went through to get the vote for women etc. I'm sure they would have be so disillusioned if they could have foreseen what some woman have done with their ' equality ' sorry if I've gone off thread a bit.

I don't watch morning tv, in fact don't watch much tv. I dislike this tendency to focus on sexual matters and laugh like toddlers. I must have no sense of humour.

the "lady" having her vagina tightened and her labia trimmed live put me off last week ,no more This Morning for me .WHY do they think this is something normal folk want to watch?

Ah, you've just reminded me why I don't watch that show. Mental bubblegum.
