Well done LizG.Even though a small sum I applaud your assertiveness.

Really pleased to tell you that I have received a refund of the £16.64 which included the £8 PO handling charge. This came from the American company after I sent them an email and scanned copies of the relevant bits of paperwork. Silly, I know for a relatively small sum but I am chuffed.

We also have a great postman Liz, it's not the individuals it's the institution that lets us down.

Grrr. They do seem to make the rules as they go along. We are lucky, our Postie locally trys to be helpful but the system is not good.

I sent my sister 6 packs of soft foam ear plugs and the Postie refused to deliver them!. They could have easily been posted through her letter box.

She had to go to Exeter to pick up her package and pay excess cost. Go figure. [mad]

Pleased to say that the company have promised to refund my money although it could take up to 10 weeks apparently. Quick to take it away but slow to return it. Will be watching carefully!

Thank you Sbagran. Sadly we have already paid but it will teach me to shop around won't it? . I think it is a disgrace that people with disabilities are treated so badly. The PO said it was probably still cheaper than buying it in this country and I told him that we could have bought good quality silver for the same price and had it engraved. I was not a happy bunny

LizG this information may be too late as you have probably already paid the purchase price - unless you can get a refund?

I wear one of the stainless steel SOS bracelets - they are easily obtainable in this country. I actually got mine from Ebay but they are also obtainable from shops that sell aids for disabled people. Mine is a stainless steel bracelet but they also available in gold (expensive!) and also as a pendant.

I too would be annoyed at having to pay an extra £16 so I hope that something can be sorted - good luck!
