What perfume do you wear?

Estee Lauder Beautiful. It was on my mother's dressing table on the day of her funeral 20 years ago and I wore it that day to feel her close to me. When I tolf my father afterwards he gave me the bottle to take home, its been my favourite ever since. Also like Estee Lauder Pleasures and J'Adore by Dior

24 Faubourg by Hermes.
Almost all Penhaligon's fragrances, but not Bluebell.
Knowing, Estee Lauder.
My fall back is Chanel No5.

I loved Rive Gauche in the seventies, but they have changed the formula and it's just not the same nowadays.

I'm a perfume addict, have far too many but they're all kept in their boxes, in a leather storage chest, in the wardrobe. Kept in the dark they last more or less forever!

I wear a good perfume every day, whether I'm leaving the house or not, I wear it for myself, not other people.........although when I was working, if I wore Hermes Rouge, my male colleagues used to find any excuse to be near me.......maybe I should start using it again!

Hermes 24 Faubourg..always go back to it whatever else I try.

If I'm having a tight month, I revert to Lidl's 'Suddenly' which as people have pointed out, is a fair and very cheap copy of Coco Mademoiselle.

I feel horribly undressed without perfume - my first ever encounter with it was aged 12 when my mother's Avon lady gave me a small bottle of Avon 'Wishing' for my birthday. I adored it and felt so glamorous!

Reading all the threads, is bringing back lots of memories of the times when I wore some of those perfumes. Bluesmum I had forgotten about.'Mystere' was a particular favourite of mine in the eighties. In the nineties it was Clynique Aromatics(until my ex's wife started to wear it) In the sixties 'Fleur' by Yardley and Estee Lauder Youth Dew. Now in the noughties Miracle by Lancome Rogue by Rhianna which I smelt on someone and asked what they were wearing, It is powdery and lovely for daytime.

I've worn Clinique Aromatics Elixir for years. Have tried others from time to time, Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan is lovely but I think it's nice to have a signature perfume that you are recognised by.

Juggernaut Is that true, that if kept in the dark they will last longer? I'm guessing that the ones kept on the dressing table lose something and evaporate in the sun or does the light somehow change the scent?

I don't wear perfume

Jolie Madame and Coco Chanel but now have Madame Rochas. Will try Lidl. I saw on TV that some of the cheaper perfumes retain their scent longer than expensive ones. In the summer I make body a spray of plain cologne with some rose oil.

Humbertbear - I wear Paloma Picasso too. I love it. worn it for years.

My favourite perfume is Lady Million by Paco Rabbane.It is not sweet or flowery but smells gorgeous!I also like 007 for women-a great fragrance for evening wear.
Why not look online for any free samples going?That way,you get to try them at home and take your time deciding.

I have tried lots pf pwrfumes but have now settled on Chanel No 5 for special occasions - do without mostly. Its expensive but DH buys it duty free when we travel and gives in to me for birthdays and Christmas. At one time i wore Poison but hate it now.

i love opium and my son always gives me some eau de toilette for Christmas. sadly it doesn't last from one Christmas to the next so I ration myself to once a week!!

when I was working I could afford "proper" perfume and bought obsession, chanel no 5 and others. unfortunately now that i'm retired and all the perfumes have been almost used up I can't afford replacements. maybe one day!!

so for day to day I discovered m&s florentyna which is cheap enough to "splash it all over". I still love it but one of my friends gave me a trio of florentyna perfumes at Christmas and I now love the midnight floral [blue flowers on the bottle] and white flowers [or something - with white flowers on the bottle]. i'll be down to m&s soon to get a larger bottle of the midnight floral as that's now my second favourite to florentyna.

I gave my mother some lily of the valley for Christmas [her favourite perfume] just before she passed away and I understand that the day she died the nurses put some of the perfume on a handkerchief so that was the last thing she smelled. I was given the bottle back but it's stayed on my dressing table, still in its box, for 9 years now. I can't bear to open it and smell it.

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir or Wood sage and Sea Salt.

Chanel Coco for daytime. Chanel Number 5 or Hermes 24 Faubourg for evening!

Lillie, All perfumes should be kept away from light, so as gorgeous as they may look on the dressing table, you should always store them in a dark place! Also, fluctuations in temperature will affect the scent, so a box in a wardrobe is a good place!
We spend a lot of money on good perfume, so it makes sense to look after it properly.

Love the body shops coconut ranges, but my favourite is Womanity by Thierry mugler

It varies with my mood - Chanel 5, Estée Lauder White linen, anything by Rochas. Years ago I used to wear a beautiful Halston perfume which is sadly no longer available.

Have worn Clinique Aromatics for years and my DGC know me by this. My DSils know if I've been at their houses, because the DGC smell of it after I've gone. Sometimes use Guerlain Pamplelune - fruity and spicy, if you don't want sweet and flowery. I used Carven Ma Griffe when DDs were young. It reappeared more recently and they bought it for me last year. A bit of nostalgia. I think I'm going to leave a stash of Aromatics behind, to remind them of me. I hope that doesn't sound too weird.

Am allergic to all perfume, whether worn as such, or in any preparation - so I smell of me!

DH always comments that there is a cloying scent in the house when I have ladies round - whether for lunch or book club or whatever.

My mother wore Guerlain cologne, with the bees on the bootle [very important that]. DH use to try and get her some whenever he could - mostly because her beloved godfather/uncle used to give her DM 1l (yes - ONE LITRE) every CHristmas!!!

I love perfume, it's my favourite thing, Estee Lauder Youth Dew and Knowing, you can use the Youth Dew bath oil as perfume if you don't want it so strong, my Mum hated Youth Dew , she used to say it made her feel as if she was going to pass out! I think she exaggerated a bit, I used to wear Pagan when I was a teenager, you can still get it but it's watered down, and Hartnell In Love , and Je Reviens, can any one remember Kiku by Faberge? also love patchouli , I think that's why I'm so fond of these Estee Lauder perfumes.

PS very strong scents - perfume, lillies, tuberose, aftrershave - also make me feel sick...

Chanel no 5. Also love Euphoria by Calvin Klein, in fact most of his perfumes.
