Oh Maw!
Brought to mind this fading follow-up, written by DD3:
Changes
A little girl with her chubby round face
Around her neck, a collar of lace,
Swinging so carefree
With the sun in her eyes,
Clutching the handle,
Up and up she flies.
How life has changed
Since that day in summer,
I have met new people,
And grown up with others.
My mind has matured,
No longer do I wear,
The dresses in my cupboard,
Or that blue ribbon in my hair.
I still have that swing,
Where my childhood still reigns,
But I'm no longer a little girl.
I am 10 years of age!
