Grand is when you collect your poorly grand daughter from school in the middle of the day and she tells you she is lucky to have such a caring family. It makes it all worthwhile and I know I've been doing my job properly

What puts the GRAND in Grandparenting, is the pleasure of watching those children grow and thinking that you had a hand in that, that somewhere they echo other loved and lost family members and life goes on.
It's also a chance to get closer to your children as they realise what you were trying to do for all those years bringing them up.
It's just altogether Grand!

The Grand comes in always being on hand when your kids need help, and spending time to get to properly know your grandkids. They'll always appreciate it, even if it doesn't seem so at the time. My aim is to be as amazing as my own grandmother was, but it's hard work at times, but worth it.

Nothing could be more grand to me than to be able to gaze into the face of my newborn grandchild and know that she has my unconditional love and support for the rest of my life.

Having a Grandchild, I only have the one but that is Grand!! Also it used to be a six hour drive so we were limited, but now we live only an hour from each other which is really GRAND!!

Being able to treat the grand kids by giving them lots of sweets and treats, then giving them back before the E numbers kick in :')

The special love that we share is Grand. The lovely smile she greets me with is Grand. The day just the two of us share together each week is Grand. Sharing her fun is just Grand!

The grandest thing about being a grandparent is when your grandchildren think you are so cool because you do things or say things they haven't got the courage to - just yet!!

It is GRAND just to be able to stand back and watch them grow, knowledge is a lovely thing, because although there will be troubles ahead for them, (and we will feel those) we also know that there is a whole world out there for them to explore, and we should be able to help them do that. We can enjoy the journey too.

Offering a safety net of love, security and fun for your growing grandchild, while you support your own child to become the best mum/dad they can be.

Good parents make GRAND parents.

It's just GRAND helping a little person get into mischief they couldn't even think of!

Being a Grand parent means giving, always being there for them, enjoying your life with theirs and sharing your life's experiences with them

Time to enjoy your grandchildren without the stresses and time issues you had when your own children were little and the joy of seeing your children as parents

Spoiling them rotten and having lots of fun during the daytime and then sending them home at night!

Grand is hearing your grandaughter shout, "hurray Granny's back, she's missed the boat", when you missed the last ferry and had to stay another night.

So far for me it's been the welcome opportunity to revisit many of the most enjoyable aspects of parenting, with the added bonus of having more experience, more patience and most importantly more time to give my grandchildren my undivided attention. Such a luxury is seldom possible when you are a busy, tired and often harassed parent who is necessarily learning on the job.

They laugh, cry, entrust and explore
So, putting a grand before parent,
Paths the way to a world you'll adore.

A Grand is a thousand pounds. Being a Grandparent is worth millions - priceless. They come into your life as the most wonderful surprise, giving it a new and unexpected dimension. It's like falling in love again......

Being grandma is wonderful, a living chain of the past and the future, how grand is that!

It's being trusted by sons and daughters with their cherished children, as they know without me saying that I would give my life to protect them. The sheer pleasure from seeing their faces light up when I turn up to see them, and their confidence in me that if I say I'll do something with them, it'll happen. A great privilege to help them have a safe, secure childhood.
